The Best Western Royal Beach Hotel is a large, 3-star Victorian seafront hotel which commands spectacular views across the Solent. We are currently working towards 4-star status and investors in people.
This privately owned hotel offers a wide range of facilities for weddings, banquets, conferences, seminars and special interest weekends. All our 124 spacious bedrooms are en suite and our clientele range from families, business people, tours, conference delegates and large parties.

We are open for business all year round, 24 hours a day. We offer full time as well as part time positions, aiming to cover day, night, early morning and evening hours/shifts. We can be flexible with hours to suit your commitments/responsibilities.

October 2007
Evening Room Attendant [part-time average 18 hours per week]
Two permanent positions to cover Monday - Saturday evening 4 pm to 11 pm. Duties include cleaning various areas of the hotel [function rooms/corridors/bedrooms] and assisting guests with the provision of towels/toiletries/iron and ironing boards. Applicants must have good English and communication skills and be able to work on own initiative.
Hourly rate - £5.52+ depending on experience
Night Porter [part-time average 27 hours per week]
Applicants must by 18+ [will be required to serve in a busy bar], have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team as well as use their own initiative. You will be responsible for the security of the hotel and will be required to assist with clearing and laying of function/conference rooms. Other duties will include serving plated food to bar and room service, general reception duties involving checking guests in and out and answering telephones. Experience is not essential but would be an advantage.
Hourly rate - £6.00+ depending on experience
Senior restaurant supervisor [full-time average 40 hours per week]
This is a hands-on position and candidates must be self-motivated with a restaurant/hotel supervisory background. The role involves assisting the restaurant manager in running a busy hotel restaurant and function suites to a very high standard. Applicants must be consistent and maintain a high standard of customer service, product quality, cleanliness and training of staff, whilst overseeing the smooth running of the department in the manager's absence. You must be able to work to budgets and will also be responsible for keeping all paperwork up to date relating to rota's and stock control.
Hourly rate - £6.50+ depending on experience
Bar Staff [part-time average hours 15 per week]
Applicants must be 18+. Duties will include serving in busy hotel bars and function rooms. You will use computerised tills and part of your duties will include serving plated food to customers. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be given.
Hourly rate - £5.52+ depending on experience
Chef de Partie [full-time average hours 40 per week]
Previous experience required for this position to work with an ambitious team. You will be working from a lounge bar, carvery, table d'hote and a la carte menu and be required to assist with catering for up to 300 people at functions and conferences. You must be enthusiastic and have a passion for food and will be working and gaining experience in all areas.
Hourly rate £6.00+ depending on experience.
Waiting Staff [part-time average hours 20 per week]
Previous experience required for these positions which are available Monday to Sunday breakfast [6 am - 12 noon], all evenings [6 pm - 11.30 pm] and casual to cover for functions. Duties will include food and drink service, clearing down tables and relaying, some general cleaning of restaurant areas and taking orders. You must be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
Hourly rate £5.52
Porters [part-time average 20 hours per week]
Three staff required for day, evening and weekend shifts. Applicants must be 18+ as duties will include the serving of alcohol in a busy bar using computerized tills. Hours of work will be between 7.30 am and 11 pm depending on your availability.
Duties will also include serving plated food to bar customers and room service and to assist with clearing and laying of function/conference rooms. Experience not essential but would be an advantage and candidates must be able to work as part of a team an on their own initiative.
